The Faith & Fantasy Story

In a lively household filled with laughter and chaos, Ana navigated her role as the middle child among eight siblings. Yes, eight! Among them were her four younger siblings who, like her, entered her loving family through adoption, creating a unique and deeply bonded family dynamic.

Ana’s passion for writing first ignited in middle school, specifically in sixth grade when her parents put her into an online creative writing program during the summer. Ana’s parents always told her she had an overactive imagination growing up, and had a great idea where they thought it could bloom best. When she was writing, Ana discovered a world where she could unleash her imagination and hone her skills. She finally realized that writing didn’t have to be boring or tedious, it could be fun. She quickly began crafting short stories, sharing them with her family and friends who eagerly encouraged her budding talent, often gathering in the living room to listen to her latest creations.

As she transitioned to high school, the allure of writing novellas took hold. The idea of penning a longer project seemed daunting at first, yet she embraced the challenge, dedicating her afternoons after school to crafting intricate plots and compelling characters. She started with smaller projects—stories that would likely remain hidden in the depths of her notebooks—and yet, she knew every story was worth it, published or not. She was growing her writing ability and getting stronger.

Beyond her love for writing, Ana loved to get lost in the realms of her favorite stories. Fantasy enchanted her most—an escape where boundaries dissolved, allowing her imagination to flourish and explore magical worlds, free from the constraints of reality. Authors like S.D. Smith, J.R.R. Tolkein, Kara Swanson, and Wayne Thomas Batson fueled her imagination and inspired her to create her own fantastical universes. At the end of her senior year of high school, she’d finished multiple projects—including her first ever novel, a young adult fantasy novel titled “The Shores Which Divide Us,” which she dreams of one day publishing.

Amid her dreams to write, Ana wrestled with a significant question: Should she choose to write Christian novels instead of the conventional young adult fiction? The answer was simple yet profound. As a young teen navigating the sometimes turbulent waters of literature, she often found it challenging to locate books that aligned with her values. Countless intriguing stories would seem perfect until she uncovered inappropriate content or profanity, leading to disappointment. Determined to address this shortfall, Ana resolved to pave a new path for herself and fellow readers. Her faith as a Christian guided her writing, shaping her mission to glorify God through her words. Ana was aware of the nuances of “preachy” literature, striving to craft narratives that resonated with readers from diverse backgrounds. With each story, she aimed to offer clean, relatable fiction, filled with themes and characters that embodied her values as a Christ follower, creating a welcoming space for everyone who picks up her work.

When Ana isn’t typing away at her latest story on her trusty laptop or buried in a fantasy book, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, reminding herself that writing doesn’t have to be a lonely process. She also loves playing piano, finding solace and creative expression through music, listening to music, being artistic, and reveling in the beauty of nature—especially Autumn which to this day, is her favorite season with its vibrant colors and crisp air. With God by her side, always ready for an adventure, Ana knows she is embarking on a beautiful journey of faith and fantasy, where the only limits are the boundaries of her imagination. She is pursuing writing now at her intensive college-alternative writing program, The Authors Conservatory, turning her passion into a lifelong career.
